Q. How much do your services cost?
A. There is an initial consultation which is complementary. If services are requested, a deposit is required after a contract agreement is signed by the new client and FindMyTwistedRoots. The contract agreement will state the hourly rate and other details specific to the client's needs.
Q. Are there extra fees, in addition to the hourly rate?
A. Yes. When copies of official documents (birth, marriage, or death certificates, for example) are requested by the client for us to obtain, those fees will be taken out of the initial deposit or an additional deposit will need to be made prior to the documents being ordered.
*Other additional fees might include, but are not limited to: cemetery record requests, gas/mileage for extensive traveling, research requests (for specific records at libraries/archives that are out-of-our-close-travel-area), copies of research finds, and postage.
Q. How long will it take to receive the research after deposit is processed?
A. Length of time for research is client-specific and will be estimated in the contract agreement.
Q. Will I be kept apprised of the progress of the research I've requested?
A. Yes. A progress report will be sent weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly, depending upon what is requested and agreed upon in the contract agreement.
Q. How is payment accepted?
A. Payment is accepted via PayPal, personal or cashiers check (please allow for check to clear our account before research begins), or Saturn Barter Trade Dollars.
